On my way back from New Orleans, I made a stop in Boise and spent time visiting my parents, sister and new brother-in-law. I hadn’t been home in a while and it was wonderful to be able to spend some time with my family.
Eastern Oregon is one of my favorite places. I love the open roads, the smell of sagebrush and being able to see all of the stars in the desert at night. The dry air and familiarity of it all is really lovely.
We hit the fruit orchards in Marsing and I was able to successfully trek back to Alaska with a box of pears and home grown vegetables (thanks Tom & Susan!). You don’t appreciate things like that until you find yourself living on a rocky, rainy island where fruit doesn’t grow.
Cheers…to home, wild music, fruit orchards, the CUTEST little dogs and time spent with people who are just as nuts as you are! 🙂
